The opportunity to participate in a performance is an exciting part of our Lil Groovers program. This is where we love to watch our students develop confidence while enjoying the opportunity to share their love of dance with family and friends cheering them on! We love giving all our Lil Groovers the chance to perform in a supportive and fun environment and it is without a doubt the highlight of our dance year!
Thank you for taking the time to read all information contained on this site. It should cover any questions you have, if not, please feel free to reach out to one of our team. Hope you are all looking forward to the performance as much as we are!

MAKEUP
While a minimal amount of stage makeup is recommended to ensure students don't looked washed out under the stage lights, it is completely optional for all Lil Groovers. If you're child would like to wear make-up follow the details below:
* BLUSH: A small amount applied to cheekbones. Pinkish brown tones.
* EYE SHADOW: A small amount applied to eyelid. Brown / natural tones.
* LIPSTICK: Red (we recommend Maybelline Superstay - Pioneer) For Lil Groovers we recommend applying with your finger or a cotton tip and "staining" the lips with a just a bit of colour rather than applying direct. If you are unsure, send the lipstick with your dancer in a labelled clip lock bag and one of our friendly team will apply it for them.
WHAT TO BRING
Labelled bottle of water only - no bags or food. All Lil Groovers should have a decent breakfast before arrival and we will provide them with a packet of Tiny Teddies to have as a snack during the performance. Note: If your child is not able to have Tiny Teddies please email the office to let us know.
PREPARING FOR THE PERFORMANCE
* All Lil Groovers will remain backstage for the duration of the performance. We will have a variety of fun activities to keep them entertained including books, colouring, building blocks, disco dancing and more. We know that for this age group separation anxiety may occur in new settings. We ask that you help us by talking positively about the performance with your child in the weeks leading up to it.
* Ways in which you can prepare your dancer for the separation:
– Tell them how exciting it will be to dance on a stage.
– Tell them how excited you are to see them dancing on stage.
– Tell them they will be going with their Teacher on a special backstage adventure.
DROP OFF PROCEDURE
* Lil Groovers are to be dropped off at 10:00am.
* Upon arrival at the venue head upstairs to the Showroom (please have your tickets ready)
* When you enter the Showroom please escort your Lil Groover to the Stage Door at the very front of the Showroom where our Staff will be waiting to escort them backstage. Please Note: Parents/carers are not permitted backstage.
* To avoid congestion please have one parent or carer bring your Lil Groover to the Stage Door. The rest of your family can find their table and take a seat.
* Our aim is for all Lil Groovers to remain backstage with our Staff for the duration of the performance. Our Team will work together with you to ensure a smooth separation at the Stage Door, however if any of the children do not settle, or need you at any time throughout the performance, we will let you know as we want to ensure they all have a positive performance experience.
AFTER THE PERFORMANCE
At the conclusion of the performance, all Lil Groovers will be released from the stage. For efficiency and to ensure no dancers get lost in the crowd, we ask that you please remain seated and wait for instructions from our Staff during this process.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS
If your child has any Medical Conditions that may require attention whilst in our care or are carrying any medication with them, please notify our supervisors when you sign your child in.
BEFORE THE PERFORMANCE
Dancers will be given their costume during their classes this Term.
Caring for your costume prior to the Performance is extremely important.
Costumes should be hung neatly in a garment bag and should not be worn prior to the Performance.
Please do not attempt to wash or iron your child's costume.
All costumes have been made to order and are checked carefully prior to distribution. Replacements are not available for lost or damaged costumes.
AFTER THE PERFORMANCE
Costumes will be yours to keep after the performance. While not recommended, if washing is required AFTER the performance we suggest spot cleaning or gentle cold hand wash only. Footloose Performance Studios does not accept responsibility for any damage that may occur when costumes are washed.
Out of respect for our dancers, and to help minimise distractions, we ask that you please put your phones away for the duration of the performance and be in the moment with your dancer.
We engage the services of both a Professional Videographer and Photographer for our Performances.
All families will receive a complimentary Digital Download of our performances which can be viewed and shared across all your devices.
Families will also receive access to all onstage and backstage photos taken, however please be aware that many of these are "live on stage" images and there is no way to guarantee that photos will be taken of each individual child, so we recommend making use of our Media Wall on arrival to take some posed close up photos of your dancer in their costume.
